A chronically overlooked crisis is dogging the rural American South: an overwhelming influx of stray and abandoned dogs are at risk of euthanasia. But in a small town in northwest Georgia, an intrepid group of local women have stepped up to compensate for the lack of an operating animal shelter – rescuing countless dogs and taking matters into their own hands.
