Arguing the World Trailer
1m 26s
Arguing the World is the story of four brilliant and engaging men caught up in the central struggles of our time. This enthralling film creates a vivid and lively picture of intellectual life in the 20th century.
For more than half a century, Irving Howe, Daniel Bell, Nathan Glazer and Irving Kristol all passionately believed that ideas could change the world-especially their ideas. And they fought over those ideas from the momenty they entered New York's City College as young would-be revoutionaries in the 1930's. Arguing the World traces the remarkable and surprising evolutions in each of their lives, from their youth in New York's immigrant neighborhoods to their idealistic college days, their controversial roles during the McCarthy era, their battle with the New Left in the 60's, and their vastly differing political views as the century drew to a close.
